Beretta PX4 G-SD by LTT (9mm)

After 20 years of service, the Beretta PX4 Full-Size has been updated to become even more shootable! The new heavy-profile cold hammer forged barrel in the PX4 G-Super Duty (G-SD) model mimics a gun Ernest built years ago and nicknamed “The Cheater Gun” for its shockingly flat recoil. The new G-SD is one of the softest-shooting 9mm handguns available.

The LTT Trigger Job includes the black DLC-coated Optimized Performance Trigger Bar that reduces the reset in single action to 1/10 of an inch, and the optional match hammer reduces pre-travel enough to rival world-class single action only pistols.

Included:

  • LTT Trigger Job
    • ArmorLube DLC coated Optimized Performance Trigger Bar
    • Gunsmith-tuned trigger engagement surfaces
    • 11# Chrome Silicon hammer spring
  • G-model Carry-style decocker levers
  • Extended magazine release button
  • Two 17 round magazines and one 20 round magazine.
  • Rubber Talon Grips (not installed)
  • LTT logo engraved on slide

    PX4 Carry Fullsize

Posted by Brian McCabe on Apr 1st 2020

What can I say, this is the fourth Langdon Tactical firearm I have purchased. Great trigger, accurate, and fun to shoot. I tarted in law enforcement with a Smith and Wesson 5906. I wish it had been as easy to shoot as well as any of the Langdon Tactical guns I own. Also, great company with awesome customer service. Please build a Langdon Tactical PX4 Storm in 45 ACP and I will be back for another..

PX4 Full Size Carry, found my new EDC

Posted by DB on Jan 15th 2020

Have had a chance to take this firearm to the range three times now and am so impressed with LTT and the product they produce. Not just the product but the online support from the initial order, the response via email and phone, as well as the online content provided by Earnest Langdon. Such an easy fun to acquire the target with, and since I ordered the PX4 with the trigger job, it is a pleasure to shoot. I’m not sure I’m going to put the Talon grips on her, as the gun fits my hand nicely and haven’t had any she with the grips as they come out of the box. But that’s always something I can consider later. Once again, great product from a great group of people running a great Veteran-owned company. Thank you for your service, and the gracefulness of sharing your expertise with all of us through the products you produce.

PX 4 Storm with Trigger and NP3

I have both the compact and now the full size. I prefer the full size. It points very well and the front sight is just right. I have four LT guns now and the centurion is out for preorder so I might as well say five! These are the best Beretta guns on the market.

    Almost perfect

Received my Full Size Carry last week and after about 500 rounds, it's everything I expected, save for one minor problem which will be covered towards the end of the review. This is an Italian made (as expected) pistol. I opted for the gray Cerakote slide which was applied professionally and flawlessly, and an LTT trigger job. The pistol comes with 2x 17 round and 1x 20 round extended magazines. Like the Compact Carry, it comes with Ameriglo sights (blacked out rear, tritium front) which are pretty good sights for quick sight picture acquisition, although I personally feel the front sight could be a little narrower.. Like its little brother, the FS Carry comes with rubber Talon grips sized for the medium/large backstraps. I left the medium backstrap (as it ships from the factory) on. I've found that I prefer to only have the Talon grips on the sides of the grips, where there is no stippling present. I cut the wrap around grip into 2 pieces to facilitate this. Overall fit and finish is very good. Slide to frame fit has a little play, but this doesn't detract from the accuracy of the pistol at all. The trigger job is very slightly better than the Trigger Job in a Bag I installed in my Compact Carry, but not by a lot. You could get very, very close to the a full LTT trigger job by installing the TJIAB on a stock PX4. Shooting the FS Carry I found it to be plenty accurate. Shooting standing off hand, I was able to keep 20-30 shot strings all within the 0 zone on a standard IDPA target at 25 yards with Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P. The sights came zeroed appropriately from Beretta/LTT. One of the aspects I appreciate about the PX4 line compared to Browning action type pistols is the difference in recoil impulse. Subjectively, the recoil on the rotating barrel seems to be milder and less snappy than other pistols I shoot regularly with a tilting barrel design. Coupled with the excellent single action trigger thanks to LTT, it makes shooting accurately and rapidly a breeze. That being said, having had the opportunity to compare shooting my Compact Carry with the FS Carry, I definitely think the Compact is ever so slightly the better shooter In my hands. Now to the minor issue - After a few hundred rounds through the FS Carry, I began to notice that the front sight began to work itself to the left under recoil. Supposedly Beretta stakes the front sight from the underside (there is a relief cut on the floor of the dovetail through the slide, so you can basically see the bottom the front sight if you turn the slide over), but I did not see any staking on my particular pistol. I ended up re-centering the sight and applied some loctite. I have not yet been able to take the pistol out since to re-zero it and ensure the adhesive holds, but I have had success with securing sights on other pistols in the past with this method, but this is the first NIB pistol I've owned that had such an issue. I suppose it is a better problem to have than sights that are so tight they are impossible to adjust with standard sight adjustment tools. If it were not for this minor problem, I would have given the pistol 5 stars. Overall a great pistol, and LTT has always been great to work with. The Full Size Carry would make an excellent duty or competition pistol, while its little brother the Compact Carry has been a reliable carry pistol for me.

    px4 carry

love the gun - its soft shooting, feels great in the hand and has well regulated sights. I can't give it a max rating because of two things: 1- grips are to slippery to use without the talons installed. 2- the gun wouldn't feed from the magazine when hand racking the slide. I had to de-burr and break the corners on the extractor and the face of the slide to make it feed reliably.

    PX4 Carry

Posted by Greg Weekes on Mar 19th 2019

I am a fan of the PX series and carried one for years as my chosen duty gun. I'm not sure why it did not get more love, I thought it was a great platform and an improvement on the already great 92 series. Mine never had so much as a single hiccup when other guns on the line were having double feeds and FTF/FTE, my PX4 just ate everything I gave it and came back for seconds. But when I treated myself to a LTT PX4 with the NP3 and LTT trigger job, I realize just how great this pistol can be! Groups shot right out of the box were phenomenal and the trigger press was a great improvement - even over my duty gun with over 5000 rds down the pipe, the smoothness and reset were just amazing. I had the folks at Langdon install the 92 style decocker levers and that was a great choice, perfect for the gun and my thumb finds them exactly where they should be. I can't say enough about this pistol - thank you to everyone at LTT and Aimee, who got the levers installed prior to shipping. If I had to design my perfect gun, this is it! It's already found a spot on my hip and the rest of my collection just pales in comparison (this from a guy who has 2 Wilson Combat 92's!). You hit this one out of the park, Langdon Tactical - you have a customer for life here.

Beretta PX4 Storm Carry Full Size Gray Ceracote w/ Action job

Posted by Matthew Sabella on Dec 14th 2018

Just received the PX4 full size in gray today and headed to the range to test fire. This gun is amazing, the trigger work is phenomenal and the gray ceracote is sexy as a Ferrari or Lamborghini. The fit and finish is incredible and the single action trigger rivals some of the best high end 1911s I've shot. I venture to say I like this gun even better than any of my model 92s. Do yourself a favor and buy this gun. If you're worried about the wife being angry then buy one for her too. The folks at Langdon Tactical ate awesome! Thanks so much!
